Why Do We Forget Things?

When I forget something, I treat this sort of thing as if there is an imaginary individual hiding stuff from me. So it may take me a while to find stuff. I've lost stuff like cresset wrenches, screw drivers, spoons & forks, or sometimes a list of things that I need to do during the day. If I do a good job trying to remember, I guess I do win the contest on me vs forgetfulness. What is the solution if someone doesn't mind me asking to prevent having a habit of forgetting, is it doing plenty of reading? Or maintaining a healthy diet? I've been wondering for a while now.

One common thing I find that causes me to forget is am interuption to my routine. It's so easy to rely on the habit of routine but sometimes you need the conscious to back it up. Also if you get a 'i know I've forgot something' feeling you should probably go through what you need for work or college.

You forget your car keys because you have a disposition for forgetting objects that you've dissociated from your body. You also have a disposition for forgetting about objects once you've left the room they are in. This research was done before this video was put up, so why no mention?
