Welcome to spear shafts part 2.

It did not go to plan!
The shaft I worked from one of the cleft staves of the log kinked in five places as it dried, so I had to abandon that idea and use one of my shafts I'd sawn from a board in Part 1 of this series.

In the end I got the result I wanted, and I did enjoy myself cleaving the Ash log down and seeing how the shaft would turn out that way.
Suffice to say I won't be making any more spear shafts that way again.

why didn't you polish the spear, head and shaft, and why you rivets, the L-shaped nail holds well enough. I like that you made the shaft thinner and it is nicely straight.
