Now BMW will have a car in Formula E. As urbanization increases, electric cars are the more practical solution for the future and Tesla is leading the way.

Why does Indian Oil sponsor a team in a electric only formula?!?

Except none of that is true.
Tesla is leading and it not parts of this. No one else compares so what credibility does it have that something should be learned from this?
Even if you couldn't just immediately realize that any motor or battery optimization can be done 'on paper', completely away from racing. F-E is entirely irrelevant, most significantly because of the truly pathetic specs they were limited to. Probably still are. And even if they freed them from regulation, they would just be fast yet still not really relevant to actual motoring. But then at least it could demonstrate extremes of engineering which they certainly don't now.

If they make the tech better and better, more power better range - thats great. Maybe one day I will have an electric vehicle. But please for the love of god, make them sound as interesting as possible not stealthy quiet. Oh and for the love of god make the cars look nice. The modern wave of cars all look so generic with this tacky futuristic look.
