These guys are so fun to watch live and on TV, and it's so easy to watch them live because they come to you!

And FYI, "rare earth metals" are not rare anymore. They received that name in the 1700s when they weren't mined in large quantities.

Great history capture of the why behind why we went gas instead of electric early on :)

Here's the thing: so much of this great to see a shift in thinking but events like this in and of themselves aren't sustainable. These should be thought of as publicity stunts stunts and pathways to education, small progresses .

Reminder: it takes AT LEAST 30 mins to charge an EV. Who wants to wait hours at "gas stations??"

Considering how Formula 1 is home of the most fuel efficient vehicles in motorsports, they still purchase a ridiculous amount of fuel for the races. Glad this is starting to take off.

actually on just very slight downhill grades you are off pedal the whole way down no matter how far you travel up to the complete loss of forward motion 1, 000 `s of times the distance of a fossil fuel engine alone where the moving parts are the drag slowing car down where as a spindle system shows very little forward motion loss over a long distance

Oh yeah this is really great for sustainability.
There is zero environmental impact in the production and running of these cars, and the people travelling to the event

Not forgetting it won't stop congestion nor solve class disparity.

Electricity is free and has no environmental effect that comes from the electricity fairy.
Back in 19th century we used Wales> whale oil to get electricity. Hooked up Whale oil to kite Ben Franklin Style.

Racing often leads to advancements in regular road cars. But the reality is that Tesla is ahead of them in overall tech now. We're better off without these guys.

Ah yes, Formula E, a sport which needs a massive reboot and already has 2 manufacturers leaving and a third scheduled to leave next year.
