In this video, I debunk the myth that cholesterol causes atherosclerosis. I explain what actually damages arteries by describing how sugar glycates onto endothelial cells, harming them and triggering signals to dispatch cholesterol and other agents to form plaques to repair the damage caused by excessive carbohydrate and sugar intake. By severely reducing excessive carb and sugar consumption, you can prevent damage. No damage means no need for plaque formation, allowing cholesterol to perform its essential functions in maintaining your health.

Yes, I agree 100%! I know first hand that Carbs & Sugar & not Cholesterol & Fat causes heart attack & stroke, I’ve survived both! Being a life long, hard core sugar addict & bread lover, I ate minimal meat & fat.

ApoB is definitely a more reliable risk marker. But for most people, LDL-C and apoB are congruent and largely align. This is especially the case when it comes to extreme elevations in LDL-C.

Second, the cholesterol payload of ApoB-carrying lipoproteins taken up by the arterial wall itself is definitely essential in plaque formation. So there is definitely a causal role for LDL-C here.
