Any discharge if it is present, yes there is a 5% chance that it could be malignant. All serous discharge are not malignancies. But breast cancer can manifest as serous discharge from the breast. So this is the reason why serous discharge cannot be neglected. Another reason why serous discharge can come is because of benign breast disease, because of cyst in the breast. This can happen because of hormone imbalance or deficiencies that are present. So this is the reason why discharge cannot be neglected it can be related to malignancy.
