Very clear and precise. Better than all the M.D, s and Physical therapists I checked out on the web.

This video is only a few months old and the first minute has more concise info than anything else you youtube

Excellent and thorough set of tests - helped me narrow down the issue - mine is mostly associated with dynamic motions - throwing, but also reaching down and forward.

I'm in UK. Had an x-ray first which showed degeneration. I then asked for a scan as I was in agony. Had an ultrasound scan which revealed a tear, bursitis and degeneration. I'm glad I didn't have to go through all this shown in the video, as the pain would have been totally unbearable.

Solid info. Arm squeeze test has been a useful addition to my diagnostic tool kit.

What if the patient waits to long to be seen and the shoulder locked up so they can’t perform the test?

Best straight forward video I've seen. So I've got a good question for ya. So torn/detached labrum repaird only one anchor. There was a small tear in the rotator cuff not large enough to repair and quite a bit of bursa that was cleaned out. 3 years later and it started just achy but now has gotten to the point of sharp pain when lifting my son to his car seat. Also when doing these test they are uncomfortable but I make them through it but now that my arm is down relaxed the deep sharp pain is through the roof. Sharp pain out side of arm and then a shooting pain down the back of my arm to my elbow. So just weird to me that I can get through these before the pain hits my like a freight train. Any ideas?

So is an MRI really ever necessary to diagnose a rotator cuff tear? When is an MRI necessary, since it seems these tests diagnose.

Hello doc, following is my mri report pls advive. Mild supraspinatus and infraspinatus insertional tendinosis with subtle bursal surface fraying. Mild to moderate subacromial bursal fluid and edema. The subacromial bursitis is disproportionate to tendon changes and correlation with inflammatory markers/recent subacromial bursal injection is recommend.
2) the bicipital groove by approximately 4.5 cm.
3) Moderate rotator interval scarring with mild inferior capsular thickening and edema mostly suggests adhesive capsulitis and needs clinical confirmation.
As compared to previous MRI dated 18-01-2022, bursitis is a recent finding. The biceps tear is also an interval development. The changes of capsulitis are grossly unchanged.

What's it mean when I can't even lift my arm forward on my own without intense pain in the front of my shoulder. Also pain and tenderness in the back.

WHat does the “hawk” test specifically show, if that was the only test that caused pain?

So this can be cervical? Because I just had a cervical spine fusion last august and replaced c5-7 and I have a cage. I just felt a sharp pain rolling the garbage can to the curb. Im gonna call my surgeon tomorrow
