This is truly one of the best YouTube channels out there — particularly the very technical videos that are posted. They're informative (at least for this intermediate-level user) without being condescending — and, most importantly — pleasantly instructional for application to the real-world; not necessarily the "ideal" situation. IMO, the value proposition of the content on this channel is that the creator doesn't immediately assume that his audience is "computer savvy." It's all explained in such a way that an "everyday user" can understand. That being said (and keep in mind, I'm still just intermediate), for the life of me I haven't been able to figure out VeraCrypt. I know that was a few videos back, but I've wanted to do an encryption of an entire drive and still feel like I'm about to mess something up. Oh well, apologies for the digression.

alse here is some small programs thats good to have/know :-)
1, windirstat
2, ShareX
3, TeamViewer setup with an account (control your pc or turn it off if you are somewhere and forget to turn it off)
4, NotePad++ (for the more "hardcore" user)
5, RoadKill Raw Copy (if you want to copy a Harddrive to say another harddrive or an SSD)

try smplayer .. you can make it play video with multimedia engine : MPC or mve or anything else you want . with more option . thank you very good video

Thank you again Brian, great information. Do you have a mail program similar to Outlook that you recommend? I hate paying the price for Office. I have heard pros and cons about Thunderbird mail and not sure it is even supported anymore. Thanks, keep the great videos coming.

Media player classic and vlc are the same quality when it comes to playing videos.Both are lightweight which makes them prefable than a rescource hogging program .The difference you are seeing in the picture it probably the programs playing back the video files using different set codecs.Which you can set a preference to anyway if you know what codec you like .
