(Filmed on August 22, 2016) - Day 100 as a beekeeper. My friend Mike from Canada came to visit and we did a hive inspection. After the inspection, we chatted for a while about hive winterization. We discuss Bee cozies, inner cover absorbent pads, top entrances, hive wrapping, and other things.

Mike sells fine honey and beeswax products all around southern Ontario.

It's been over 40 years since I've learned the basics of beekeeping and it's great to learn newer skills through your videos.

He mentioned the crinkley wing trat that is a classic sign of mites.. that actually comes from when in the comb with the mite and the larve, they feed off the baby bee, and where they damage to siphon off the bee is why they wind up with deformaties! The more you know!

I love this: "So, they are using it as a proper brood box, they're well trained." (visual aid, Vino in top had and black tails with a whip and a chair training the bees!)

I wasn't sure which one of these to comment on so I figured I would choose the first video in the series.

The hive looks good and I am glad your friend could give you some advice.

An aspect of beekeeping I have noticed that may be peculiar to this particular pursuit is the fact that even experts are unsure regarding many things related to the bees and just make educated guesses related to most problems. Who really knows why bees do weird things sometimes? In all cases we just need to respond to their behavior as best we can and hope it all works out.

Again, good job. I will be doing am inspection on my hive later today and will let you know how it goes via YouTube. I hope it's as good as yours.
