I recall the abomination first being introduced in DD1 - the religious characters (crusader, vestal, leper, flagelant) would straight up refuse to be in a party with him. This feature was eventually removed, but it was interesting.

In spite of how unrealistic it was, part of me was hoping it would be the Houndmaster, but I can't say I'm disappointed with getting Abom either. And I do have hope that they'll introduce Houndmaster as a playable hero eventually, he's my favourite DD1 hero.
