Save yourself the labor and do it yourself. It may seem overwhelming for people who aren't mechanically inclined but its very simple and doing work on your own machines really gives you a better all around relationship with them. You really feel more in control like you just know it personally

That’s preventive maintenance. Owner can do it and doesn’t need an A&P. It’s not difficult. My 5 year old knows how to change the oil.

That's only a little more than twice what I pay for a routine oil and filter (with synthetic blend high mileage oil) on my 2015 Fiesta. The oil changers are *supposed* to check stuff like coolant level and brake fluid, as well as topping up my washer bottle -- but they don't seem the least bit interested in that, as my current shop has missed that two out of the last three changes. Time to find a new shop, I guess...

They saw this guy even a layman can change oil on a recip engine. Its NOT rocket science, just FAA Regulated in that your parts are approved and not avail off the WalMart shelf. Yes- even an oil filter has to meet FAA standards for quality.$$$ unfair but true :(

So basically if you can do it yourself then it’s about like a truck oil change. Not bad at all! I figured they would have fuel filters to change and more than one oil filter. With it being aviation I thought the oil would be $20 a quart 😂

After a few screw ups with my car work done by a fancy VW dealership I have not pet anyone work on my cars for the past 8 years and do ot all myself. I can't imagine letting someone work on my plane before I fly it.
