My thirty-five years and, probably, 30, 000 hours of Vipassana Meditation practice has, so far revealed to me - among other phenomena - that by systematically bringing one's focused attention onto our body, there are sensations felt and, sometimes, an explosive emotional response ensues. This can be anything from a snarl of anger, a roar of rage, to a whimper of pain. This appears to indicate that our emotional memories are not held in our brains at all, but within our WHOLE physicality...and probably some subtle dimension or dimensions beyond the physical.

I think in this pandemic, cultural uncertainty, misinformation, crazy violence, and war, etc. our left brain thinking character doesn't know where to file all of this stuff and it just keeps banging around.

as I watch this video,

memories flood me
and fill me

with overwhelming,
all-consuming,

intense: guilt and shame
and grief and rage...

I have no idea
how to escape this pain...
