Stam is one of the best CBs in the 90s and early 2000s, as well as one of the greatest Dutch defenders of all-time.

Not only did United win the treble with him around, but I also love his defensive partnership with Cafu, Nesta and Maldini at AC Milan back in the early 2000s. Being able to stand along two of the greatest defenders of all-time showed your class as a player indeed.

I'm Dutch en Stam his biggest fan. The man was a complete defender. Didn't use his long ball en attacking skills to much abroad because they couldn't miss him at the back. But the man had a descent long ball en run with the ball. Injuries later on got the best of him, but the man was a machine. Best duo would be van dijk en Stam. They would complement each other with leadership en hardness en some serious speed. No one would go past these 2.
