Mike if you're reading this I saw you speak at the US Science and Engineering Conference in Washington DC back in high school (2012/13) about how college isn't necessary for everybody and how America needs skilled tradespeople. I really took that to heart, fast forward to 2022 and we've made a family business out of Commercial and Residential Remodeling. So glad I didn't go into debt for a degree that wouldn't really mean much today. God Bless.

My fear of heights had my stomach in my throat watching this. I give huge respect to these guys. I knew a Greek guy growing up who did repair work on high altitude objects like bridges monuments etc and he said that because he was so comfortable and unafraid of working high up he used to make $150k a year and this was in the eighties

I love how you can see the respect he gains from the workers as the time goes on, at the start they all look at him like a movie star who doesn’t belong, by the end he has earnt that respect and is one of them

Man Mike hasn’t aged a bit! I legit thought this was a clip from like 2009. I looked at the date and it was 2 days ago. Welcome back Mike!!

The sign of truly experienced professional. Set everything up and test it before you climb the tower. And always leave a guy on the ground in case you forgot something. 🤣

God Bless Mike and the camera operators. I would NEVER have been able to climb that thing, much less operate a camera while I was doing it. With my fear of heights I would have been down at the bottom wishing them luck.

A minor correction. Water towers are to help supply energy free water pressure to the local area. Although the water in the water tower, does mix at the bottom, (hence the need for occasional cleaning) the vast majority of water going to local area are coming from a ground level water source. The water from the water source, passes through a pipe below the tower. There is a "valve" system (not the exact term) that keeps the pressure from the tower pushing water backwards. The height and amount of water, uses gravity to create a natural source of pressure in the piping system. The piping systems getting smaller as they get closer to the outlet, is an additional help for keeping the pressure flowing. The pressure won't look like much as it exits your faucet or hose but the more you try to block the outlet, the more you will see the actual force of the pressure. The water level is suppose to remain above a certain level. If it drops below a certain level, water pressure drops and if everything is working, pumps are activated automatically to fill it back up. If this fails and is in need of repair, low water pressure can become contaminated. If you have every experienced in your area a "boil water" notice, it was most likely do to a failure to keep water pressure up. It doesn't mean the water IS contaminated but it means there is now a chance it could get contaminated.

Climbing is the hardest battle. 😂 Those who have climbed those heights have been like Zach at one point. You either get used to it, or learn to cope.
Glad to see Mike back at it with the show.

Those guys are literally the most standard group of southern contractors I’ve ever seen.

I had to do a double take to make sure the paintball place I worked at in HS wasn’t run by them
