Until recently, flying cars were merely a science-fiction dream, often depicted in films and cartoons. Now, China has transformed the vision into reality with its rapidly evolving "low-altitude economy", which includes electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, drones and airships. The burgeoning industry was valued at over 500 billion yuan (US$70 billion) in 2023 and is projected to soar to 2 trillion yuan (US$280 billion) by 2030. While innovations such as drone deliveries and flying taxis promise to enhance urban mobility and reduce travel times, significant concerns about costs, regulatory frameworks and safety persist. Nevertheless, China's advancements in aerial transport could redefine how we navigate urban environments.

To make drone a success, cities and housing need to be redesigned to accommodate it.

IMO, these Flying Taxis will give Rural Real Estate a big Boost!
Imagine you work in a busy large city by day, and go back to your quiet unpolluted very relaxing Rural Home by night - all made possible because of Flying Cars. Parking and Charging wont even be a problem: You can fly into the city, and have it autonomously fly back to your rural home to recharge. And with an App on your mobile phone, command it to pick you up after dinner with friends.

Not to minimize the noise concerns being expressed by Xiaohongshu commentators, but I think that the noise concerns will go away over time as the technology improves and the utility of drones/helicopters outweighs their downsides. Most people living in urban areas have had to put up with noise and smoke from ICE cars, and we're so accustomed to ICE cars' auditory pollution that 'silent' EVs need to have a noise mode to alert pedestrians of their presence.

Amazing to see how dynamic are both political and economical decision making. Though future affordable and profitable activities needs to be identified, big up to China for leading the way!
I am also impressed by the will to be autonomous as well on the supply chain and components.
