If you want to add a kick pleat or vent in the back (or the front), what's the best way to do it? Can it still be done within a shorts conversion?

Fun to see you do that. Is the opposite possible? I bought a skirt that I like the color and texture of fabric, but ended up not liking the flair. And I thought, can I turn this skirt into shorts? It's pretty long, so I'd have some extra fabric to work with.

If the shorts are loose/wide in the thighs but the crotch depth is too short (pleated mens shorts), do you think they could work for this? or is a looser crotch depth necessary? Thanks again for another great tutorial, the skirt came out so nice. I love the plaid. :)
