I love making my dashboard flash with those traction and stability lights at the exit to a big, quiet roundabout

Traction control doesn't brake - stability control does.

Group b is who you gotta thank, they also made 4 wheel drive a viable option and abs. Racing is goated especially rally.

The only time I disengage my vsa traction control is when I am reversing.

I love my 3 series, just occasionally the back end will slide out and make me look like I'm in a fast a furious movie. Such a fun car to drive.

Only 2 times I had my car get away from me was with TC on.

First time after the rear came out in a roundabout it cut all the power so we kept sliding (full left lock, 40mph, looking out of the passenger window at the road in front. Saved it.)

Second time as I turned onto a sliproad the rear skipped on one of the road markings with it being slightly wet and put me into extremely sudden understeer, admittedly stabilty control saved that one (but it created the problem in the first place).

Car doesn't have a very dynamic TC/ESC system, just generic. More advanced and modern ones do a better job of not trying to kill you. Since then I've driven the car 10x harder with TC always off (as soon as I start the engine) and never once had anything unexpected happen.

Rear-wheel drive cars were dangerous until the advent of traction control
Now everyone can drive them if they don't overdo it
but be careful
however, the limits of physics remain

I tried to safely "dance" with my car once but it didn't let me

Happy to see a manual in a new car. Becoming a rare thing now

It made you look like a nervous driver, over correcting a very tiny bit of traction loss.

When you have an LSD traction control is dangerous.

It kicks in because you’ve lost grip, adds full engine breaking and takes your throttle.

The equivalent of clutching in and pulling the hand brake.

Turn it off learn to control and be respectful

"I do not know what I am doing"

We can see that!

Traction and stability control cause so many problems when driving on ice and snow, everyone who's lived in the north their whole lives knows to leave them off when the roads are bad.

Oh I thought I was just really good at catching oversteer 😂😂😂

The traction control was overcorrecting

Traction control on cars I found out is for amateurs drivers, if you know what you're doing you're safer with it turned off.
The intrusiveness of it will make the car not do what you want and that can get it out of control instead of under control.
