Retevis RT52 DMR Dual Band Handheld Radio - Ham Radio Q&A

The Retevis RT52 may look quite familiar on the outside, it has the same dimensions and look as the Retevis’ RT3S dual band HT. In fact, just about every appearance between the RT3S and RT52 are identical. But the differences are apparent as soon as you turn on the radio radio. First off, you are greeted with a high contrast light colored text on a black screen. The second big difference of the RT 52 is the addition of dual Push to Talk operation.

Michael, great Video as all of yours, i enjoy watching them.

I have had my RT52 for about 4 years now and have yet to program it. The CPS says it cannot find the device. I have ordered many programming cables with no luck. I most recently got a FTDI cable as all over youtube people say it works with any radio and so far with mine, nope or it's just that the CPS for the radio does not see it, or do you know how within the CPS i can tell it what Comm Port i am plugged into?

I feel as though i have bought a brick, i love everything that this radio is supposed to be only wish that i could use it. Please i need your help, any you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Happy Holidays and 73, I enjoy your channel very much. I have a question about your review, is the RT52 FCC legal to use? I tried to see when you removed the battery if there was any FCC ID but did not see one.

Retevis RT52 has a lot of errors in the software, and the firmware update is not on the manufacturer's website.
The radio can not be set up without a computer.
Despite the double PTT you can not broadcast on the second channel without waiting for 4 seconds after receiving the broadcast on the first channel, and you can not turn it off, this function is not needed on the radio with a double PTT !!!
The recording function is unavailable even if programmed by the computer.
Commercially speaking radio stations are not received despite the frequency setting.
It is impossible to import contacts and channels from csv files available on the Internet from other devices, eg Md380 (rt3) etc.

Lovely radio screen is loads better than rt3 wish the rt3 had the same screen good short video about radio I'll have to get one seems really good nice improved screen are you doing any test videos of it
