I’m a Health Economist. I was all for lockdown but then I did the numbers and changed my mind. Health economists are going to calculate the cost per Covid life saved and it will reveal to have been the most expensive and comparatively wasteful effort. If you put 3 trillion into fighting obesity or road accidents or addictions, or the three of them together, you would save way more lives. People should keep working using great caution, wearing masks and avoiding close contact. Every life is important, so why not save the obesity or addiction cases at a much lower cost.

Total lockdown will make people's life worse in the Philippines as partial lock down will be great with social distancing by the Filipinos when if allowed to buy essential commodities. The questions rises in my mind is 1> How ordinary people will survive this lock down ( Daily wage workers / hawkers /Overseas Filipinos who is back after Economic slowdown) 2> Any home delivery of essential food supplies like been carried out by Indian government to its citizens due to lockdown at reasonable rates. 3> Any schemes in place to feed not just for the poorer families but those who can't able to afford like single mom's. Life is tough, but total lock down can't work as Millions of Filipinos staying under poverty line and without a bowl of rice will die of hunger then due to coronavirus. Stay safe Filipinos. God give you'll Strength to face this pandemic.❤🇮🇳🇵🇭✝️🛐
