Stock footage of doctors sitting around a table always weirds me out. Im like, "they're just looking at eachother and nodding their heads while moving thier lips, they're not even speaking."

This shit was crazy af to watch for me because I fractured both my C3 and C4 in a car accident and my fractures where like a microscopic amount away from actually severing or damaging my spinal column. A true reminder of how fucking lucky I am.

This is the beginning of cyborgs. And at some point it'll be an 'upgrade' rather than something to fix medical problems.

I cannot even begin to imagine how horrifying it must be to not be able to move your own body from below the neck

I really thought the bald head in the thumbnail was a potato wired up to computers like GLaDOS from Portal

So what I think would be the best use of this technology is spinal injury bypass. One of these devices on the brain, and another below the spinal injury. Bluetooth connecting the two, making people be able to walk again.

In its current state, the device can send a signal, but it can't force that signal past damaged nerves in the spine. If a similar device was used below the spinal injury to receive instructions from the brain linked device, this could potentially reverse different types of paralysis. I hope they figure that out and make it happen.

“Sir, we haven’t received payment from Mr. Smith in 3 months.”
Cut the feed.
“But sir, won’t that make him handicapped again?”
It will remind him he owes us.

“Listen. And understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.”

I had a very similar diving accident. C7 -T1 burst fracture. 2mm away from piercing the spinal cord. I'm very glad Nolan gets to experience an increased quality of life.

Going to be crazy when you can instantly talk with your PC in your head. Like having chatGPT up in there.

Won’t be long until they integrate with Model 3 so Nolan can drive. Jokes aside, awesome video. It’s good to see Nolan excited about life.
