To train, go to your local climbing gym. Have your Freinds throw rocks at you as you climb and call you names. Why name calling because that’s what you’ll be calling yourself when you’re half way up and getting pounded by rocks.

I have climbed my share in the Alps. The Matterhorn was for me enough the moment I made it till the Solvey cabon. I was In good shape. Had climbed already Singnalkuppe and the Weismiess. I said my friends that I had reached my hight. My female friend decide to stay as well. The guide went up with the boys. We made a nap and were glad to go down when the guide returned.

Lovely mountain from a distance - but a pile of crumbling on the routes. A pupil of my old school, Lord Francis Douglas, died on the first ascent, which has helped keep me away from it.

My grandparents climbed it and always told us chilling stories... They said a guy and his son, both not very experienced, didn't take the optimal route. Rockfalls killed the poor child, leaving gore to the shock of the dad, considering the sheer size of the boulder that fell. Definitely puts me off mountaineering.

2.5 hours to hornli hut. About 8.5 up and down from there. About 20 days out of the year are good for a try at a summit. At peak season, 1-2 rescues a day. Viel Gluck!
