Spices can be found in just about everyone's kitchen, but a new study reveals that some spices may contain concerning levels of heavy metals; Naomi Ruchim reports for CBS2.

Why do these companies get the okay to release them to the public? For profit I'm sure..And we need brand names so we can further hold these companies accountable. Many harmful chemicals are hiding in all sorts of food and it's just sickening to know that and to know that it's acceptable to be in the grocery stores

Why don't they just change the name of the spice to arsenic ginger or lead oregano so we will at least know how they are killing us.

The main point here is that these spices may contribute .1% of your heavy metals....That means other things are contributing the other 99.9% of your heavy metal exposure. The body can actually detox heavy metals naturally by eating foods high in glutathione, like greens and whole allium veggies. After watching this and considering the info for myself, I have decided to keep seasoning my food.

I see a "metal free spices" campaign coming up. And somehow millionaire companies associated with these news corporations will be the "breakthrough" new products being sold on the market.

Turmeric is supposed to be anti-inflammatory, but it doesn't matter if you're ingesting heavy metals along with it.

The countries it comes from and companies are responsible for all this toxicity put into their products and should be held accountable and have to pay for their crimes .

And these were all approved by the FDA. Makes you wonder what their standards really are and what their goal actually is the more daily products and ingredients that we discover have poisonous or dangerous ingredients.

Thanks EPA! Sadly Europe has better, more stricter tolerance limits, especially in baby foods containing Arsenic. Americans should be more concerned about micro and nano plastics, and the fact that it is literally raining plastics over cities that pollutes the air that we breathe in.
