Показать описание
The Goethe-Institut Namibia in collaboration with the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), the University of Namibia (UNAM) and the Research Group from the University of Applied Sciences (INKA) Berlin) organising a week-long workshop on coding to create smartphone apps that will bring Namibian children books to life by using augmented reality components.
Augmented reality is created through images and animations that are regarded as an extension to the book. Applying the concept of augmented reality to books, in particular children’s books, brings reading more interactive and relevant to the minds of today’s youth.
For this workshop five Namibian children books have been chosen and five groups consisting students from the three mentioned institutions will be working on the development of the apps on the chosen books. At the reception two of the local students will be awarded with an all-expense paid trip to Germany.
