Honestly, occasionally during my life, I come across certain aspects of the word that seems so super critical and intensely maticulous about everything outside of who is God, such as this video conveying that any adoration which contests with God front and center is a sin - and leads to destruction - and qualifies as an idol. Spiritually I am mature enough to understand the underlying principle and message of always turning to God for everything we appreciate about His creation and giving thanks (and the secondary creation through humankind who images God with our own creative abilities)...still yet, it makes it seem as if God is hypervigilent in observing our every thought, and extremely sensitive and critical of our desire of crossing even one centimeter over the line. God created us in His image, with His creative qualities. And so, as imagers of God, exercising our talents bestowed by God, we also create and admire our creation. It's not a sin to use all of our abilities and talents and build something by divine principle so that it is a blessing to others. Having appreciation for our own good works, with a mind of quality, innovation, splendor to create something from our own mind and bring it into reality is imaging God in the way that He designed us. Without appreciation and adoration of what we create, then nothing would ever get done. God knows this better than we do. God is not stumped, bewildered or confused and can find a way to get in front of us, in any situation. He is not standing still, tapping His toe in disgust at US for doing good work and building the garden. God actually delegated the priviledge of dominion over the garden to Adam. Adam was a participant in managing the created realm. We would be a useless, inert creation, living as needy babies and not mature children of God if to give little effort or recognition to our productions. I get the point of always honoring God and ultimately thanking Him, giving thanks to Him for the blessing and talents He gives us to do the work we do, but going too deep in believing anything we admire is a sin is demotivating away from pursuing any achievement. The proving point for me is this: read the scripture asking the Lord to show you what His word means to you specifically, and how you should pursue it, while honoring and giving thanks to Him. We all have different paths, circumstances, locations, cultures, experiences, talents, unbringing and positions on this earth. The word of God is not meant to create a world of automatons who respond simultaneously and in equal measure to third person interpretation of the scripture (such as a video like this, or some third party book or literature). I've never once imagined or witnessed a field of sheep all grazing and walking in a perfect straight line, all mimicking each other in every detail. The Shepherd moves the flock to different spaces of open green field and He only desires to keep you in the same safe green pasture. He does not have a desire for every creature to walk, move, stand, live exactly the same mechanical order of life. The space in His presence that He gives us freely to roam is ours to roam and enjoy, so long as He can see you and you can see Him. Admire what you do, if it is good, out of a good spirited effort, and all along the way, converse with the Lord about it as if you were talking to a friend and father, and give thanks and honor to God along the way. That's the kind of relationship God wants. Not slaves, not dependents who need the milk bottle, not dead beats who lack enthusiasm to manage the garden, not robots.
