Join me for a sew-along this week as I make the Maya dress from Fibremood's latest magazine. It is a beautiful dress with elegant shaping created by fish eye darts. I have included a tutorial for these in the video. This is my first sew along video and I hope you enjoy watching me sew my first Fibremood pattern!

I have made this in a size 40 and my measurements are:
Bust – 36
Waist – 30
Hips – 42

This is my first sew along vlog and I really enjoyed making it. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions, please do pop them in the comments below. It’s always great to hear from you!

As always, thanks so much for watching and have a great week!

Hi Amelia, I enjoyed this vlog. I got this pattern when Fibremood had a free pattern choice. Now I've seen it it's one for me to try. Your fabric choice is great. Thanks for the sew-along.

Thank you for sharing how you sew a dress. I always like to see how else I could be sewing something together.

I love listening to your calm, gentle voice, too 💛

That was a brilliant sew along Amelia, you are so good at explaining things. The fish eye dart tutorial was so clear. The sleeves are gorgeous. I have never used a fibre mood pattern, or even looked at the magazine so I was really interested to see how it works. . Really enjoyed it with all your tips and details re pinning the pleats etc. Thank you x

Researching this dress as I'm new to fibre mood patterns and came across this tutorial, thanks for making it! Anyone successfully made this dress with only 2m fabric? Pattern says i'll need 2.7m length with 1.4m width fabric for my size. I have 1.6m wide denim, and I'm hoping if I shortened the skirt, used different fabric for the pockets, the sleeve facing, and a neck facing (instead of bias binding), I might get away with it...?
