Simple flower applique | vintage inspired | no pattern needed | sew along with me

Sew along with me as I make a simple flower applique quilt block! I was inspired both by a recent thrift store book AND an old quilt. My pattern copies the quilt....OR you can get the book and make the other beautiful flower quilt block!

There is a real love in me for the early means of accomplishing necessary items! I love this quilt, and the way to make it, useful, beautiful, obtainable ! I have books, magazines, cut outs, years of collected, copies, of early quilt stuff, etc. I pull it out and look through them now and then, . I look, you do it, you are very good at applying your skills! I found on our give away table in the park where I live 31 friendships quilt blocks with names embroidered in each block of the lady who hand made it. All hand sewed. Material looks to be from the 30’s or 40’s. I’m going to finish the quilt, so excited. WHAT A FIND!!!

If you made the flower petals fewer and asymmetric with the circle not in the center it will become a template for a fried egg sunny-side-up. Then you can make a fried egg quilt!
Please make a fried egg quilt :)

Pretty block and vintage quilt. Love the detailed sashing. I learned to hand applique this way but modern ways use a lightweight interfacing on the back and fold seam allowance over before hand stitching in place. Gives a more stable edge and anything that saves time is worth trying.😅♥️🇦🇺

Wow, what a find that pattern book was for $1. I love and am always inspired by your quilting ideas and methods. I recently completed a quilt for my great niece that used the same sashing as your vintage quilt. I have not done applique but you make it look so simple and relaxing I can see I'll have to have a go. ❤️🇦🇺
