"The Girl That Never Was' by James will have you reaching for more tissues

Like the person below said, luckily it turned out positively for the Blunt family. His father was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease and only has 1 kidney due to donating the other earlier in life. This song was written with the belief that his father would not be around much longer. After the song was made, a distant cousin reached out and was found to be a match and donated the kidney that saved his dad's life.

Unfortunately, you stopped the video too soon. At the very end of the video, James' dad reaches over and pats James' arm to comfort him. A very tender gesture that, of course, a parent would do if their child is hurting.
