Yes. I’ve got these as part of the complete concertos set that you recommended some time ago.

Lovely recording. Had my work review today. Makes my life a lot better for one. Just that. Thank you!

My favourite cellist and my favourite recording... Heard him play No 1 in a concert...

I had a conversation with a Russian cellist about Shostakovich's first cello concerto and she said, 'this music runs in my veins'. Yes it is a emotionally powerful and I will look out for the Schiff recording. Thanks Dave!

My fave, too, from the day it was released. I already had No. 1 with Rostropovich/Ormandy and No. 2 with Rostropovich/Ozawa, both which I also love. I’ve gotten a few others since, but always go back to Schiff and then Rostropovich. Such great works! Shostakovich composed nothing better than those concertos.

I recently became a classics today insider, in part because of the material on the website, that is voluminous and I'm sure I can get a lot of out it, but mostly as a gesture of appreciation for how much your videos have expanded my classical music world. Thank you.

Yes, #1 is "the most neurotic piece anybody ever wrote". That exactly sums it up
