A terrifying subway shove during the evening commute this week was captured on video and police say the victim is lucky to be alive.

Exclusive video shows the suspect approach her victim and then violently push the woman right into an oncoming train.

The unprovoked assault was captured by police body-worn cameras at the Lexington Avenue/59th Street station.

Two officers were standing on the platform where it happened just after 5:30 Tuesday night. They jumped into action and arrested the suspect right away.

I think the fact that she randomly wanted to kill a stranger is more dangerous than a criminal that actually has a motive. I mean this person can do this anywhere she wanted. She can target anyone she wants.

The fact that a person is willing to kill someone so easily shows they need to be locked up for the rest of their life and never let out.

Sick how she immediately accepted her arrest like she wasn't even planning on getting away with it. She just wanted to watch someone innocent and unsuspecting die

Here in Japan, like in South Korea and Hong Kong, we have glass barriers that only open once the train arrives.
Why does NYC not consider doing that?

She's not crazy, she knew what she was doing.
Edit: I'm talking about the kind of crazy that keeps you out of prison by claiming you dont understand what you did. She is aware enough to be charged with murder.

The fact that the person who attacked her looks like any person you pass on the sidewalk is terrifying

This is why I NEVER EVER EVER stand anywhere near that yellow line until the train is at the station and doors are opening. People are sick and we need to be alert at all times. I get so much anxiety just seeing people standing near the platform edge.

A similar thing happened to me when I was little it was declared a accident but while waiting for the train with my grandfather on the yellow line a Teenage girl bumped me really hard while the train was starting to approach I clogged to my grandfather's hand for dear life since I stumbled forward really hard. Luckily my grandmother was and still is a strong man and pulled me back so fast it hurt my arm.

My grandfather reported it and since the teen wasn't found and no one was hurt it was just a scary accident.

Stop victim blaming her! Instead of blaming her for standing too close to edge, maybe blame the criminal trying to push her off? I dunno, bit of a wild guess.

In Korea, there's another door that covers between you and the railway, the door will open once the train is completely stop. They should add those things if this kind of case still exists. For maximize the safety

I wonder If she woke up one morning and said:

**refuses to elaborate further**
