I think AI is the true interpretation of death, it makes sense that death would customise itself to look as the most terrifying version of itself depending on what the person most fears. Here, seeing that death cannot be defined makes it seem far more complex and unnerving, because as a person you cannot define what exactly you are looking at- until you realise it is death.
