...So I've been practicing the three ply reverse twist cordage more & have got it down to feeling more or less natural now. There's only two moves used in this technique so even if you make a mistake it's easy to go back & sort it out.

...Anyway I know I demonstrated it with different coloured strand last time so I thought I'd do a demo with with all the strands the same colour. .
...I thought I'd show the whole process of using retted bast from the Thai roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) I slowed it down & put some written instructions to show what going on rather than trying to explain it here. It's actually pretty simple & once you get going you soon get into the rhythm of it & it becomes automatic. Progress is noticeably slower, which is to be expected but you seem to end up with tighter, neat looking coils using this technique. .
...Anyway I hope this helps some of you guys out who fancy giving this a bash & I'd love to see some of your attempts if you do.

...Of course I had to spin up a quick coal to test it, not because I had any doubt it would hold out but because I needed a coal to #fireitupfriday.
