About the only advantage I can see to 3-ply reverse wrapped cordage is the ability to do traditional three strand splicing; e.g., short and long splicing, eye splicing and back splicing. It's easy enough to make an eye loop, for example, on the starting end of a length of 3-ply cord, but you couldn't use the method I demonstrate on the back end. Nevertheless I thought it was fun to learn a new reverse wrapping technique. And the cord turned out awesome!

I should mention that artificial sinew is waxed. This serves to greatly increase the "grip" on the spindle, but it does tend to leave things a bit sticky when you are done playing for the day. Oh well, the cord will last forever and the wax will eventually wear off.

Lastly, in my frustration of dealing with the weather, causing my first couple of embers to die, I forgot to discuss how I tied the cord to my bow. I realized this only after I was editing the video. I hope the pictures I included at the end are sufficient.

Paytah Wahkan!
