Wow I can't believe it took me trying every possible software glitch to come find this video and then come to realize my issue was 100% because of my XB1 controller being plugged in. Thank you so much! 🤣😂

Thank you for finally solving my issue! I don't why scrolling inactive windows suddenly activated after years of using my computer, or why it even exists in the first place, but I'm glad it was only something simple.

Befor watching your video, I thought there was a virus in my PC and was about to reinstall windows, after watching your video and after trying the steps one by one, changing the USB port for mouse/keyboard worked for me, you have saved me too much time and hassle, many thanks Sir.

I had already browsed so many websites/reddit posts to try to troubleshoot this issue, and this is the first time I found a suggestion to unplug a wired game controller - which was the root of the issue!!! Thank you SO much for this!

You are awesome! Not many people that I say that about. I've never seen a how to fix something video that literally checked everything that could be checked. By the time I got through your list my problem was fixed. Keep up the good work.

I've watched several videos about this issue. Didn't realize I had my game controller plugged in. Unplugged it and BAM, problem fixed. THANK YOU!!!!

After viewing (20+) videos on this scrolling issue, I tried all the above steps and only Step (10) solved the problem.
My first Logitech mouse was defective - meaning it worked well but the only problem with it was no vertical scrolling in Excel sheets and windows, google, youtube....etc. The second mouse when connected solved the scrolling problem.

Didn't realize that the game controller would have caused this. Thanks for letting me know to check!

Wish I had started with your video as I did everything you mentioned EXCEPT thinking about my wired Xbox controller conntected to my PC - that was it!! Thank you!! I did do a clean install of Windows 10 before I found your video, but can now just use the backup and restore all my programs and files before things got wonky - you rock!!

Restarting stopped it. It was bizarre, it was only scrolling on menus like the startup menu
and not in programmes like MS Excel or word. Thank you for your video

Thanks! For me it was a wired controller, I've had it plugged in for 2+ years and never been an issue before lol

You solved my issue by having me both turn off the inactive scroll and also unplugging and replugging my wireless mouse's USB connector to my computer. Thank you!

THANK YOU! For me it was changing the USB port for the portable mouse. Forever grateful. Subscribed and liked.

Solved! It was my wireless mouse receiver. As soon as I moved it to a different USB port the problem stopped. Thank you!

Thank you, thank you!!! Number 4 (swapping usb sockets) sorted mine and saved my evening - not only was it scrolling but video I was trying to watch was jumping and speeding so this was such a well explained and systematic video - excellent! 😅

Thanks for the great tips in your video. Everything used to work fine, but as of this morning, suddenly the content on my pages was auto-scrolling and going to the end of each field and page. I checked many YouTube videos for the solution. Turned off the Scroll Inactive windows in mouse settings. Rebooted my computer. Updated Windows. All this did not solve my problem. Wasted a lot of time. Can't believe that your tip to change the port into which USB connector of the wireless mouse is plugged. Why would it be so, I don't understand, but it solved my problem.
