Did you also lose yourself in self-help? 💊 I hope you are gentle with yourselves and take care. Because you were already enough <3

It's scary watching everyone trying to be the "best version of themselves" and never trying to reconnect with who they are. The "best version" is rarely the mirror of within, of our true selves, our true wants, but the mirror of external expectations. It's just another tool to preserve the status quo, to keep an individualistic culture that still chastises those individuals that do express themselves. Great video!

That's why I always remind myself, that I work on myself to feel better and to learn how to manage things better, but not to become more worthy or happier, I am inherently worthy, and I be happy is being present.

yup i used to be a proud 'dedicated to self improvement' kind of person. I spent more than ten years trying to be better... but the answer was to appreciate who I am and realize that nothing needs to change. I need to stop judging my reactions and emotions and stop thinking I am a bad person who needs to change

I’ve been trying to be ‘better’ since I was 12, now I’m 18 and still don’t feel like I’m making any progress.
This video really was an eye opener for me.
I never once thought maybe the root of the problem was because I didn’t feel enough and valuable. And maybe I just needed to stay true to myself and love me for being me. Thank you, this was really helpful! <3

This video is so refreshing after watching a ton of bullshit I consume on the regular basis. You really deserve more views, good luck with your channel

The delayed gratification marshmallow test was taught to me in developmental psychology as a test of executive function- i.e, can indicate impulsivity, it’s not some major indicator of overall lifelong functioning bc of the marshmallow, it’s bc of the executive function difficulties which are often present in certain neuro-developmental disabilities and with anxiety/neuroticism. The way people (not you, great work/video!) misuse psychology studies and twist it to fit their own agendas upsets me & probably contributes to some of this constant need for self-improvement, for some people it’s a condition of our existence & we need to just accept ourselves for who we are & find others that do the same instead of constantly seeking to change something.

this was super refreshing after having gone down a self-help rabbit hole for the past couple of months. at first i found them motivating, but they started making me feel more stressed, anxious, unmotivated and feeling like a failuire that i wasn’t living a life like theirs. (i had placed expectations like theirs). i realized that i liked many aspects of my life previously that i was now trying to get rid of due to self-help gurus and hustlers making me feel like i was wasting time doing things i like (like looking at funny stuff online and art etc.). this video was a good wake up call to realize that they all have their own agenda and life style and it doesn’t have to be mine!

I really enjoyed the topic of this video, I relate a lot to this issue, I have now subscribed. I am curious, what software do you use to edit your videos?

It's unlikely that the quote is from Paulo Coelho. There’s no verified source or publication from him that includes this exact wording. While it's a popular quote online, it doesn't appear in his well-known works, and it doesn't match his typical style exactly. So, while it resonates with the themes Coelho often explores, it is not definitively attributed to him.

But what if we want everything that the self help industry promises ? And it feels as real self

Hi there. Not sure if I saw this right, but did you reply to one of my comments saying you'd like to contact me? I've deleted all my comments recently, but I'd be happy to talk to you outside of YouTube. I use Discord primarily to talk via voice at the moment if that's available to you?
