I am just delighted to have flown on the A380 with Emirates just before the pandemic took off. The most comfortable plane I have ever flown on.

I hope there are still a fair amount of A380 in operation after the pandemic, I have never flown in one and I would like to.

I'm a 747 guy, but I am sad that I will probably never get a chance to fly on a 380. even though I find them to be unattractively styled, they are an awesome piece of engineering and the world loses something with their passing.

Well the 747 will still live on as a cargo plane. Just like the MD-11s and DC-10s. The A380, I believe it's primary purpose is to haul people and not cargo, so its days are numbered.

Maybe Boeing could use them as a temporary replacement for the 737max. Physical distancing would be no problem

I think what Lufthansa may do is assign the 777-9 to the routes now flown by the A380. I wouldn't be surprised by the middle 2020's, Lufthansa may do an A350XWB-1000 order, which will allow them to add capacity on routes formerly flown by the 747-400 and A340-600.

Didn't realize the last time I spotted a Lufthansa A380 at SFO that it truly was the last time.

Lufthansa: Retires all A380s
Emirates: Has over 100, with another five remaining on order

It is sad to see the A380 rapidly retired. I have had the opportunity to fly the A380 twice. Once with Etihad and once with BA, The cabin is very quiet and the seats are very comfortable making for an exceptional passenger experience. But now especially in these COVID-19 times fuel efficiency is of utmost importance to airlines to cut operating costs as much as possible and quadjets like the A380 don't fit that bracket.

I believe Lufthansa may hold on to the 7 remaining planes if there is a significant uptrend on those specific routes by 2022. It is expensive, however, to keep crews trained for such a small fleet, but by keeping it on-line, you have a competitive advantage in terms of passenger comfort and volume. But another threat is the fact that Lufthansa has 19 748's already.

By far the best plane for a passenger. So quiet and comfortable. I have never been in another airplane that comes near to a A380.

as much as love airbus the 380 was a mistake from the start, The should have gone with the 350 and called it good.

Big ass wing + four big ass gas guzzling engines + less than a full load of passengers = DINOSAUR

I've only flown business class once in my life and it was on a Lufthansa A380 from Hong Kong to Munich. It's the only long haul flight I wish I could have stayed on longer because I could actually sleep through the whole flight.

I would love to see the original Lufthansa A380 Business Case. I struggle to imagine it was an overwhelming proposal

This is truly heartbreaking for any aviation enthusiast and flyer. The A380 is a beautiful plane.
