as a former Bieing 777 inspector, I can say they had a 777X freighter in the plan all along.

I can see Boeing developing both the passenger versions of the 777x and the cargo version at the same time.

The correctly put title would be “A Likely Potential Lufthansa Order In The Near Future” as Boeing still hasn’t launched it just yet even though they should now

So far ....lots of talk ... Still waiting for actual firm orders from either manufacturers for their latest freighter. Varients..!!;

Massive? Imagine what adjective the author would have used if Lufthansa had actually placed an order 😂

LH would not doubt in choosing the 77XF cause it'll be a double runner for both crew swap and maintenance. They'll see it like a long term cash cow

So there was NO order news. Usual DJ fake hype.

Lufthansa has been a good Boeing customer many years, may they enjoy many more years as partners!

It's not hard to see why Lufthansa would want the 777XF, considering their fleet composition and history, but I would've thought that the recent MAX news would've been more significant given today's news surrounding it.

Let's hope Boeing doesn't do another MaX debacle

The airlines have now become primarily freight carriers, just like railroads did to pursue profits.

I have no doubt there will be a 777X-based freighter sooner or later. I also have no doubt there will be demand for purpose built new freighter aircraft. However, I expect we will see substantial PTF conversion orders in the short and intermediate timeline. There have been many retirements of wide-body passenger aircraft in the last couple of years, so there is a supply of aircraft that could be converted. Brand new planes are expensive and timelines are still anything but certain. Given the pattern over the last couple of decades, I put little value on any delivery predictions. Neither Airbus nor Boeing have a good track record of these projects staying on the original timelines. Every cargo operator knows this and must consider business needs between now and an unknown date in the future.

The 777X is a nice, but A350 is stunning!

Keeping the freighter on one side, will we ever get to see more customers 🤔 for the 777-9 like Turkish Aeroflot Air France KLM or so ?!?! Or only less than 10 ?!?!

Still waiting for launch customers!!!!

350F carries less plane per kilo hauled than the 777X, ergo it's more efficient and cheaper to buy and operate.

No body say the 777x would not be a success. ❤

That's history repeating itself. In 69 the 747 that had just lost the C5 program was pushed into market till Boeing could get their SST in the air! Then the big plane would take a back seat doing freight & staying out of the way of SST aircraft! Like the 747-8 the 777X now is beginning it's life heavy in freight, but I would like to fly on a 7X to see it inside & be 1 of 400+ passengers aboard. That's a YUGE bi-reactor airliner!

Boeing is very lucky with the cargo boom. If not the 777X would be a small success. Not like the current version anyway. Time will tell...
