I hate it when I see comments people make being mean about someone who is older too 😞 I think they forget they too will be old one day and will face the same process. I find older models to be absolutely beautiful and they really do look amazing for their age. I can only hope my skin looks that good when I get there ☺️

As a 54yo female who spent her teens & 20's BAKING in the sun, I appreciate a Derm who speaks the TRUTH! I'm not trying to look 20 again, but looking great at 50 shouldn't be so difficult!!

Thank you for this. As a 51 year old black woman, I've always heard the saying "black doesn't crack". But ofcourse it does. Genetics are big in the aging process. Skincare with a consistent routine is also important. I love your notion of your skincare shouldn't be based on your age but your concerns.

“Age is not a skin type” hope this phrase catches on ❤

Would love a video about office procedures that address wrinkles, sagging, hyperpigmentation ect. Its difficult to sift through the sea of information out there. I like your honest, informed, educated, no nonsense approach to skin care.

This is great! It's also worth noting that those of us who grew up in the 70's and 80's we went to the beach with baby oil on our skin because we didn't have access to accurate information about the effects of UVB/UVA. We all wanted a "healthy"tan. Now we know how misguided that was.

I didn’t realize a lack of estrogen was contributing to my hollowness and jowling and not just dry skin! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you so much for the info! More pre and post menopausal info please. 💜

I am in perimenopause and use hormone replacement therapy. I woke up in the middle of the night, had depression, eye inflammation etc etc etc. I feel so much better now and am happy that this decreases the risk of cardiovascular disease and many others. The fact that it also helps how my skin looks is a nice benefit.

Thank you for this on my 68th birthday! Perfect timing! If someone could formulate skin care to fix the sagging they would be my hero and a millionaire. By the way don't worry about your cussing, it makes you even more real. I love you!

I’m in my 50’s, dealing with melasma and became a skin nerd. Good thing, I’ve discovered you and learned so much from your vlogs. I have been using your skincare line plus retinol and hydroquinone. I’m looking forward to watch you vlog on cosmetic procedures that are appropriate for women in their 50’s.

I am 72 years old, and I was a big sunbather all my life. I had a suntan every summer, using the sun and tanning beds. I never even wore sunscreen. So I had major damage to my skin! I had wrinkles, brown spots, and red scaly spots. I was really SICK of using a LOT of makeup, so I decided to do something about my skin.
Over the last two months I had two fraxel laser treatments, to "start over" and then began using sunscreen every day, even indoors. I'm also using hydraquinone and retinol every night. What a huge difference this is making! I am now using just minimal makeup, and I feel I look 15 years younger. It is never too late to start good skincare. ❤

0:27: 🔑 Skincare in your 50s: age is not a skin type, target your routine based on your biggest problem, skincare can only do so much as we age
3:35: 🔍 In our 50s, the decrease in estrogen leads to wrinkles, loss of bone density, saggy skin, sensitivity to UV rays, and dryness.
6:45: 💦 The speaker discusses skincare routine and products for dry skin.
10:30: 💆‍♀ The speaker discusses different anti-aging serums, including those with growth factors and peptides, as well as serums for pigmentation.
13:54: 🌞 The importance of skincare products and routines for menopausal women.
17:11: 🌞 The video discusses two sunscreens for people over 50 and emphasizes the importance of fixing the structure of the skin in addition to using skincare products.

I'm 53 and definitely would love a video of procedures (botox, laser, etc) with the risks as well. Also curious what long term filler use does to the skin and face

Thank you for this great information. Even at 71 years old really appreciate this information. Wish I'd had this in my 50's but better late than never.

I'm turning 50 in a couple of months and dealing with a bit of saggy skin in my neck, arms, and inner tights. I would love a video of skin products that can also be used in your body (for aging and hydration). I don't like using many products because is hard for me o keep up with a regimen. Thanks, Dr. Idriss, for doing this video

Thank you so much for this. I'm 52 and went through surgical menopause. 1 year later I'm feeling and seeing the effects of no ovaries and no estrodial and estriol. Thankfully, I have been on top of my skincare for 20 years and seeing a medical esthetician for procedures for 5 . Your work on social emdia and your products have been a fantastic addition.
