as I'm listening to this story, I'm ten minutes in and its glaringly obvious that the writer knows a lot less about cybersecurity than the narrator they've written. I work in cybersecurity and not a single one of my colleagues would go anywhere near a smart home system or download random files onto a machine that they care about losing.

Man these stories have gotten so overly flowery and tryhard. Author used “sanity “ about 300 times in one story.
Edit: great narration as always creeps, almost forgot to say.

Lost any immersion as soon as the "IT genius" mentioned his full smart-home system

Usage or excessive repetition of certain words or phrases is usually a pretty clear sign of computer generated stories.

This is because as far as ai training goes, it's asking a computer to try over and over again to complete a certain tasking, and rewarding or penalizing successful unsuccessful attempts.

This results in a lot of repetition should you want a long (about 45min+ story).

It's kind of sad to see that the quality of creepypastas has gone down this significantly, they were practically my childhood. Like between 'strange list of rules' stories, 'these are my tales' stories, and 'darkweb' / 'backrooms', it really feels like the quality of online horror stories is just dead. It's never coming back, it'll never be what it once was.

Most unrealistic part of this is someone working in cybersecurity having smart appliances

This one just rambled on and on with very little actually happening. Was very hard for me to stay focused on it 😅
(great job with narration though, as always)

"Driven by a fear of mix and determination". I can't unhear it.

This story was just the author seeing how many ways they could repeat the idea that they used to find comfort in their computer but now they can't. I seriously kept thinking Id accidentally started it over but it was just him saying the same thing over again hah. 30 mins of story without saying anything. "I spent days fighting" how tho? How was it affecting him? Ok I'm done. Good story tho. Thanks to all who were involved. <3

I love web creepypastas the most. My overall favorite creepypasta that's not the left right game is "the hidden web page"

Working in IT, stories like that are more comedy than horror. Kudos to you for being able to read it in such a serious tone :D

Creeps you have been entertaining and terrifying me with your chilling tales since I was very young. I’m much older now and want to say thanks from the whole community for being there when we needed

Bro I'm loving the constant uploads. Been watching since 2018 and got back Into this channel during the 2020 lockdown. Listening to these during work or commutes make the day better

You know it's fake because a cybersecurity specialist would never use smart home devices

Thank you Creeps for this reading!

However, this story, to put frankly, was a terrible listen. From my perception, it was practically the first 10 minutes of the story repeated similarly 3 more times to fill 45 minutes.

- I looked at the codecs
- I didn't understand it
- I spent day and night on it
- it haunted my mind
- I was lonely, my house felt like prison
- but I was determined to look at it

And that's virtually the entire story back to front, disregarding the discovery of the file in the beginning and the updating of it through Eldritch speak in the end. Oh, and the repetitive use of the word "codecs" got grating fast. Either the writer didn't actually know what they were trying to write so they repeated the story 4 times, or the writer wasn't human to begin with and exercised their repository of synonyms.

This was pretty mid but at least it wasn't another watch murder video online and they are aware you're watching somehow.
