In this video, we’re going to take a look at how Trump’s policies will affect Europe, how Europe might respond to a second Trump term, and whether this is the beginning of the end of the transatlantic alliance.

Our mission is to explain news and politics in an impartial, efficient, and accessible way, balancing import and interest while fostering independent thought.

TLDR is a completely independent & privately owned media company that's not afraid to tackle the issues we think are most important. It's time for EU to be self sufficient. Hard times need to make hard decisions

No. Time for Europe to end its reliance on the US (something it should have done decades ago) and for the UK to get out of America's backside, and stop pretending it isn't part of Europe.

It means pain but also the chance to finally detach

It's good for the EU to be chucked into the water and learn to swim for itself again ngl. Whether it is military or economy, it's good to try to become a bit of a global power again

Finally Europe can stop being so US centric.
It's time for Europe to unite together against the threats from all sides.

Considering that the EU still the second largest defense spender and second largest consumer market, we are capable to do it. If we will do it, it’s another question

This is good for Europe. Strategic and military independence is what is needed.

This is what happens when the world relies economically on one big country.

The EU not being a military superpower is a choice — it doesn't need to be that way

Europe needs to be independent and united

The EU NEEDS to detach itself from relying on the US before it drags us down into the gutter with it.
1) We MUST unify our defense systems, we are stronger together AND despite the cultural differences war between its members is unthinkable.
2) It MUST become technologically self sufficient. Draghi was correct in his analysis and now it's twice as important we follow it.

We need to produce our own medicine, digital technology, telecommunications and weapons.
In fact the two fields we ABSOLUTELY cannot afford to not have a lead in are medical technology (if the EU remains in its trailing position in regenerative medicine, bionics, anti-aging, bioprinting and gene therapy technologies our medical system will collapse under its own weight as abti democratic regimes could use access to it as a wedge to control our politics) and our weapons technology.

In both cases we need an organized, common, EU driven, organized and funded initiative with clear and ambitious goals, serious funding and tight timelines.

3) We NEED to unify our defense.
Let us not be stupid, we're not going to go to war with each other, but the threats from outside are not something we can play with as small divided militaries with unbalanced budgets, personnel, weapons, etc.
Together we are unassailable, divided we are snacks.

4) The US's upcoming descent into madness will cause a lot of people to flee. This is the chance for the EU to get A LOT of highly educated, motivated and determined people to join it who will hold democratic values that will aid us in not only upholding ours but making us a global superpower that can be the world's stabilizing force through sheer technological and cultural influence.
We must have a system in place within WEEKS to accept them, help them settle and gain citizenship fast.

5) The EU must immediately form plans to federalize. If Hungary is in the way we should kick it out. We don't have the time to afford to play stupid games anymore.

This is not a time where we can squabble like children.
We either unite as brothers and sisters into a whole greater than the sum of its parts or we will fall.

6) Nuclear energy.
We must embrace it ASAP
This process will need a lot of energy, renewables may be nice and have use cases, but let's be honest, we NEED to become the people who harness the greatest amount of high desity possible to power a re-industrialization in all high tech sectors.

Not only is it him; more than 30 years ago, the EU was formed, and Europe has not been able to become independent in any aspect. In comparison, China has managed to achieve this in under 30 years of development. It’s time for a change now.

Which is why we need change, My biggest concern is how we can survive this whole financial and political crisis, especially given the political power struggle right now. The government has really made things harder for its citizens and we cannot stand by and accept all the consequences of poor governance.

I can tell you as an American, the mood in this country to ANY foreign aid is very negative, if not hostile.

The American view is now they we spent billions a year on other countries that just hate us anyways, meanwhile; we have a ton of our own problems here.

I believe this could be historic moment for Europe to cut the cord and stand on their own legs without U.S. holding their hands. This could be Europe great opportunity it won’t be easy but it could be historic moment if they at least try.

Say what you want about the man (and there is a lot to be said), but he's 100% right that it's a disgrace that some NATO members are not contributing the agreed amount.

It will be good in the same way Ukraine was good for the EU. Meaning it will force us to get our shit together and move towards a more united union instead of a burocratic nightmare
