I don't usually make tutorial videos but this method helped me out for my server without using a modpack or any minecraft mods in general

Nice video helped me alot, but anyone got a suggestion so the compass spawn in the hotbar/inventory. You can't really use a chest if the hunter used a bed. ~ Thank you

I set world spawn but it just resets whenever I move and they respawn next to me anyway

I have only one problem that is - if the hunter dies he spawn very close to the runner that creates a disadvantage on the runner

its weird even if i put the repeat version it just says command set /execute at (player name) run set worldspawn ∼∼∼ but dosent repeate itself like yours does

Here’s a better way below.I use BE, but it’s easy to change the grammar to JE.

Put the command blocks IN ORDER.
Repeat:/tag @a remove alive
Chain:/tag @e[type=player, name=!Speedrunner] add alive
Chain:/execute at Speedrunner run setworldspawn ~ ~ ~
Chain:/testfor @a[tag=!alive, name=!Speedrunner] JE:/execuse(maybe)
Chain, Conditional:/setworldspawn x y z

Then, /tickingarea add circle x y z 1 JE:/forceload Make sure all the command blocks are forceloaded.
/give @a[name=!Speedrunner] compass 1 0 {"minecraft:keep_on_death"} JE has a little difference.
/gamerule commandblockoutput false

Use these commands, and hunters can set their own spawn points.


Problems:
1.If players don’t respawn, compasses will point to the world spawn point instead of the speedrunner(it’s not important).
2.When the speedrunner is in the Nether or the End, compasses will point to the portal, but if someone dies during the time, they’ll point to the world spawn point until the speedrunner comes back to the Overworld.
3.Compasses don’t work except they are in the Overworld(it can’t be solved by only commands).
