I love the new, more casual, style of your videos and also the more frequent uploads!

Love the “I don’t have my light meter and arrived later than I wanted” then straight heat photos.. great work Willem!

I'm blown away by the dynamic range and details of that first shot. It's most probably a function of the medium used but still, I find it absolutely gorgeous.

As someone based in Glendale this was a welcome treat to see some sights I recognized! Definitely inspiring to see a new perspective on places I've seen for the better part of 5 years.

I'm actually kinda blown away with the first picture, that is gorgeous! How you can captura that much detail and dynamic range through just guessing a minute of exposure astounds me.

It’s so great to see you go out and just try something new, capture some frames that aren’t perfect and just experiment. Really gets me inspired to go out there and just shoot whatever!

Manfrotto makes a $20 spacer to go under that gear head, worth it to keep the full function of the bottom knob on that gear head. 4x5 is perfect for using filters..invest in some graduates…if your going to shoot film make it right when you shoot it! If you are shooting chrome find the time where your film starts to reciprocity fail..riding your exposures around that zone will make much more interesting skies…great start ..have fun with it.

I am really happy you’re working with Large Format again!

I have a Wista 45D that I’ve been using for Many years, and I recently sold all my 35mm and and medium format cameras (including my Leica M3) and bought a beautiful 8x10 Wista and I couldn’t be happier!

It’s definitely not for everyone but as someone who lives life rather slowly, large format is perfect for me.

I’m happy to be able to watch your YouTube video more frequently than before, surprised to see the details of 4×5 again. Beautiful photos as always!

Ahh, the good old changing bag! Got to get the film notches on the correct side. Memories of trying to load damp 35mm film onto a damp spiral and then into the developing tank.. Infuriating! Stunning picture, btw.

Gosh. Love these videos so much. It’s so great seeing your process and thoughts and you actually take lovely photos which can be kinda rare with YouTube photography channels.

A very real video showing what happens with film photography particularly 4x5. Years ago in my photo course I had to shoot 4x5 & recently I decided to give it a go again. It is a lot of work but very rewarding. I think the learning curve is quite large but definitely opens another dimension in photography. Not for the faint of heart. I'm certainly not ready for color it is
Fomapan for me!

There is nothing like a large format negative. I use a 8 x10 inch camera made for me. I always forget something and sometimes that's fun, guessing more than less for exposures and hoping you can see all planes of focus. Remember to place the dark cloth over the camera when the holder is in...esp. if waiting for a long time for exposure, there can be a light leak. Well done!

Great video, love the 4x5 stuff. I love when there is more talking about each frame and a longer process. Nick Carver is really good with that, cool to see you doing it too.
