Volkswagen California Beach 2022 Review

Based on the overhauled T6.1 Transporter commercial van and Multivan people-mover, the five-seat 2022 Volkswagen California Beach isn’t cheap at $90,990 plus on-road costs in base TDI340 guise, and an extra $4000 for all-wheel drive brings the price of the 4MOTION version tested here to a cool $95K.

But this everyday van doubles as a camper just like the legendary Volkswagen Kombi, and comes complete with a roof-mounted loft bed, 180-degree front swivel seats, camping table and two folding chairs, wind-out awning, second battery and a programmable auxiliary diesel heater – all direct from the factory, unlike its key rivals.

Like the Marco Polo, the awning is on the wrong side for Australia ... and it's basically only a sleeping quarters, not a real camping van.

I agree with the phone but once you connect your phone. It allows you to use its main screen for the phone. And hands free entirely. I really likes how quick and easy it was to set this up . I.e it does it for you

Way over-priced. You can get a Jayco full sized campervan with full ensuite in it at this price.
