VW California Beach Tour T6.1 2023

Today we're looking at the VW California Beach TOUR model. This is essential the 'car' version of the California Beach. It doesn't come with any of the camping extras that you'd find on the appropriately named VW California Beach CAMPER.

Now, why would somebody want this over the Camper model? Well, it can be a 7-seater vehicle for daily driving, has two sliding doors at the side, but still comes with a pop top manual roof for sleeping, and can sleep four people comfortably thanks to the fold-down seats in the back. Great for if you are planning on spending the night somewhere (or unexpectadly need to overnight somewhere). It's the ideal quick camper.

On this model we've added the optional Comfort Mattress, which I think is important, as well as an optional awning.

We only have the Ocean available in New Zealand. I really like the versatility of the Beach Tour. With some additional Vanessa camping gear, make it a 4 berth camper with better daily use.
I may have to get one from the UK or Australia

If i already had a 5 seater Tour, can I buy the extra 2 seats aftermarket? Struggling to find anything online apart from used. Want to factor in their cost! Thanks

hi chris, could you do a video on the leisure battery and electrical outlets on the beach tour please? ive seen the one on the ocean model you have done previously but understand the beach tour is unique as it doesnt have the EHU point.

The only problem with the Tour is the road tax, it’s taxed as a car whereas the Ocean, Surf and Beach camper are taxed as vans.

T6.1 will not be orderable anymore and will be stopped for ever. The california will be made until end of this year, to make profit of these horrible prices.
