Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced significant financial aid for Andhra Pradesh and major infrastructure projects for Bihar. The Union Budget unveiled big-ticket measures for Bihar, proposing an outlay of 26,000 crore for various road projects in the state and outlining plans for new airports and sports infrastructure. The central government will also provide 15,000 crore in financial assistance for Andhra Pradesh for the purpose of developing the capital of Amaravati. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had pressed for 'special help' ahead of the Budget. TDP's 16 MPs and JDU's 12 MPs are key to the stability of the NDA government.
