nice one Rick, putting your hands on the painting. anyone with any idea about art knows the acids from your hands will breakdown the paint over time. cotton gloves should always be used.

The thing I don’t understand is if you have an early work from a famous artist that was authenticated by someone in the artists family, why would you take it to a pawn shop?

Realistically, appraisals probably shouldn't be trusted if they're coming from the artist's family member, even if they are the "most foremost expert"
