The fact that Obi Wan chose to use Qui Gon’s lightsaber is heartwarming

I've always subscribed to the idea that Luke's green crystal was Qui-Gon's. Just a really nice way of tying legacies together and that way it's like after all those years Qui-Gon is still watching out for the Skywalker family :)

I feel it’s quite symbolic that Obi Wan keep Qui Gon’s lightsaber for so long and I wonder what may have happened if he had kept using that lightsaber for the rest of his life

I love this theory because it's better than what I watched of Luke making his own crystal. I think it would be better for that crystal to call to him

This just further gives hope to the theory of Luke using Qui-Gons green krystal for his new lightsaber. Since the saga technically began thanks to Qui-Gon it would be a symbolic gesture, the design of Obiwans with the krystal of Qui-Gon. This would be so appropriate since Luke himself was trained by Obiwan and, while he never knew him, has the heart, soul, and discipline of Qui-Gon, just as the krystal is the heart and soul of a lightsaber.

Its super funny because I was asking just the other day on another channel what happened to lightsabers after the death of their owners. I love the idea of Luke using Jin's crystal for his green saber.

It is no surprise that he has chosen to do this. To be exact, I cannot believe that many of us did not see it coming that Obi-wan will wanted to keep his master's lightsaber with him and even use it on several occasions. Plus, he is sort of a diplomat as well. And we all know that green lightsabers are usually being wielded by the Jedi who are diplomats.
