When the new owners of a house in Blythburgh in Suffolk explored their potting shed they were shocked to discover a cupboard full of human skulls. Could these remains have something to do with the superb ruins of a medieval priory that has lain hidden for years? The priory fell into disuse before Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries, and may contain the remains of a 7th century Saxon King, Anna. But despite digging several trenches in the back garden, the team struggle to make sense of it all. They are joined by historian Sam Newton.

Even with such a confusing and frustrating site, the team is all so calm and diligent. The great love and respect they all have for Mick is literally palpable. You are greatly missed, Mick. <3

I don't date Time Team episodes by Season/Episode, but rather by Tony's hair.

As a late coming yank, as is our way, this show carried my spirits during the quarantine.

I like to think that when he reached the other side, some of the abbots of this monastery came up to Mick and introduced themselves and told him the story of their priory.

I live in Suffolk and often drive through Blythburgh but to my shame knew very little about this. Also to my shame I don't take advantage of the history in Suffolk and indeed Norfolk perhaps falling foul of taking for granted of what is on your doorstep. New years resolution for 2022; get out to places like Dunwich, Blythburgh, Sutton Hoo, Framlingham and a visit to Colchester Castle with my camera. Thanks Time Team, absolutely brilliant these are available on YouTube and look forward to the future with Sutton Hoo episode.

One of my most favorite programs and now I live on the other side of the pond I miss these fascinating programs even more. I hope so much that they make lots of new seasons as there is so much more history to discover in the entire UK and Southern Ireland.
