The New Mutants is a 2020 American superhero horror film based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name and distributed by 20th Century Studios. It is the thirteenth and final installment in the X-Men film series. The film was directed by Josh Boone from a screenplay he wrote with Knate Lee, and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga.

The demon bear was actually pretty intimidating in the comics, but i knew there was no way to bring it into live action and not look silly.

Ironically, the Demon Bear is arguably one of the most comic-accurate things in this movie.

The original comic this was based off had the bear but it was actually built up and thanks to the art style it made it feel more like a slasher.

As far as the X-Men universe meets horror, the show Legion nailed it. It was so underrated.

The saddest part is that this is the last X-Men-related film by Fox. Hopefully the MCU will do these characters justice one day.

Anya Taylor Joy was the best part of this movie, she clearly gave this project her all. I wish that some of the other characters, namely Sam and Berto, had been more developed.

Hey, Colossus's sister is a great character in the comics! Her mutant power is to create an energy sword that she can cut into other universes. That's BRILLIANT.

From my understanding, the movie actually took a lot of inspiration with A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. The dynamic with these troubled teens that have unique powers within themselves, one the kids is crippled, the antagonist is a supernatural Boogeyman that dwells on their thoughts and psychological issues and shape shifts.
