I use to be a microblading artist, but stop when I realized that selling microblading as just the best thing ever felt a little deceptive because it honestly only look awesome immediately after the procedure. I too got my brows microbladed just a little over a year back and they have since faded and they faded evenly like you've shared. Although I don't regret it because I have very spares tail ends, and it doesn't look completely nake with the implanted pigment, but I wouldn't go back and get it done again simply because it does cause scarring as it is completely damaging to the skin and the unevenness will continue, so will the filling them in. The truth is You can only break the skin so often before it adversely reacts, and it'll never look as nice as the first time you had it done. I will say this, Microbladers will sell their work by showing you and telling you all the incentives of microblading, they hardly ever show you a full face picture of complete healed microbladed eyebrows. The truth is, once it heals, it doesn't look like the freshly bladed eyebrows, with clean and crisp hair strokes that you walk out with. The strokes will eventually fade (most often unevenly) over a period of months and blur together, and it can be patchy and the color can change as well. You'll definitely have to fill in your brows even after the procedure, so don't think microblading your brows will eliminate that. They will sell you on "not having to fill them in ever again, but it's a false claim. The only perk of Microbalding is probably the fact that it may take you less time to fill in your Browns because you have an outline. But yes, not worth the high price and overall damage to the skin. I got out of the business because I couldn't just state the pros, I was absolutely honest with the cons as well. And it just felt really deceptive.

I haven't seen your channel in forever, but 4/5 years ago you taught me how to use a tampon 😂 that's something I'll never forgot (so weird, right?) I love you and am forever thankful for your ability to be open to your followers.

I'm a licensed Esthetician in two states. In both states we're required to have an intake form that asks for information like if you're anemic in order to combat issues like what you've had!!! I microblade also and with all due respect to the girl who did your brows, if she didn't know information like that she's risking her license. If someone with a condition like anemia, diabetes, or an immune disorder were to get a serious infection or reaction her license could get taken away if she was not conscious of their health conditions. Not trying to put another professional under the bus, just saying that's poor practice if she/the business is working without knowing these things.

I have no interest in microblading whatsoever, but I wanted to appreciate how honest and informative you are towards your viewers. You're one of the most genuine Youtubers ever and I just wanted to acknowledge that. Thanks for being a caring sista to us all of these years, Weylie!

I have almost zero interest in micro-blading, but I just wanna say I truly appreciate how honest and real you are. It shows that having bad/negative experience is totally normal. Thank you!

your brows turning out ashy is from the artist not choosing the correct pigment for your skin tone. As a microblading artist, you mix another pigment in the chosen hair stroke color, which is called a modifier. The modifier helps keep the warmth in the stroke when it heals so they don’t heal too cool. (Different undertones of skin tones can use the same hairstroke pigment color but all heal differently because of the undertone/ coloring in the skin).
Also, your artist was moving VERY fast. Microblading is precise and each stroke is meant to go slowly so you can ensure every stroke has the same pressure applied. The blotchy look after yours healed could definitely be caused to her lack of consistency of pressure, i.e., only swiping the surface on some of the strokes and on other strokes hitting that threshold that the skin will hold the pigment in.

With anemia, oily skin, immune disorders; I recommend clients getting shading or ombré combo brows with a gun- these difficult skin types typically hold pigment better after healing.

This is really a great review.Nobody talks abt the oily skin problem or the anemia problem and the scarring is the most important.Nobody thinks abt the results of doing it repeatedly. Thanks again from someone who has just had it done!

I only can speak for myself. I didn’t have no eyebrows. Micobladding help a lot and change my appearance. I just got them redone after 10 months it was my 3rd touch up. I love it and it is making my eyebrows grow back because I’m not waxing and tweezing as much. Some people had them done after 5 years and theirs still look good. I think it just depends on skin and the artist that does them. People do your research and check reviews.

Hi Weylie! Just thought I would share that I also have really oily skin, am anemic, and got my eyebrows microbladed last year. However, my experience was great! I love them and mines don't look ashy / patchy / feathery at all. I would say microblading completely changed my life as I only have to fill them in when I go out now... and I probably have even less brow hairs than you do haha. I don't doubt that oily skin plays a huge role in the finished brow tattoo / fading time as mines are starting to fade a bit (about 9-10 months old now) but perhaps your results may have to do with your specific brow artist and the ink/technique they used (like you said, iron based dye perhaps.) I don't think all people with oily skin will have a bad experience with microblading. Not sure what type of dye my tattoo artist used but I went to Hera Permanent Makeup in Koreatown, LA if you want to check them out. :)

I got mine done on October so 7 months ago! Mine didn't fully fill in after healing as well so I still have to lightly fill in with pencil in those patches, but what used to take me 10-15 minutes only takes me 1 minute now! I don't have anemia issues so my ashy brown ink color stayed true. Sucks to hear you had a bad experience, I don't think anyone knows how your body reacts until you go through it. I also like a softer eyebrow look so maybe I'm more biased in that sense. Good review! 🤗💕

I was advised that during my brow aftercare to not get them wet AT ALL. I did not clean them with water for 7 days. I just continued applying a&d ointment three times a day. I was told that water could affect the pigmentation....

I'm not considering microblading at all, but I just wanna say I really appreciate how in depth Weylie goes to explain the whole process. Helping not only the people after the process, but before too.

Thank you for your review! I really do think this varies completely from person to person and salon to salon. My mom got hers done about 6 months ago and it was $400 and she freaking loves them and she wakes up everyday just as fleeked as day one! But it depends on the person and salon!!

I offer microblading services. I listened to your opinion and respect it. The aftercare instructions you received are incorrect. After getting your eyebrows microbladed, you should not blot your eyebrows twice a day.. you should not blot them at all. You have to keep your eyebrows dry and apply a aftercare ointment (Hustle Bitter) to help with the healing process. Don't use vasoline, etc on your new tatted brows as it will pull out pigmentation. Hustle butter is made specifically to keep pigments in tacked and have a smooth recovery. You stated your eyebrows are slightly blue, the girl that did your eyebrows should of color corrected them with orange pigmentation at the end so it cancels out the blue and purple tones. I would totally love to offer free brows to you JUST TO SEE WHY I LOVE MICROBLADING!
