If the agents are smart, they would accept offers by the Mets even with less .
Example the Blue Jays offer 5 years to Springer at 30 per year and the Mets 25 for 5, the logical choice would be the Mets .

Because of the Big Apple .
Springer easily could make an extra 10 to 15 a year through promos and advertisements .

Lindor will be making at least 20 .

The problem is Springer is asking for way more than 130 million. Also, the Mets can only spend 30 million more since they need money aside for adding players during the season. The wiggle room is important.

Hi, mets fan since 1972, moving forward I believe if you want to sign with the mets you should play for the city and legacy rather than the money. Bringing Springer will make us lose money especially if we extend Lindor. Only bring springer if he wants to play here rather than him just taking the largest contract . we want players that believe in New York Mets. players like one year rental is not the answers like pitching Bauer he wears different caps to make money not about the team . No pitcher should make more than Degrom for the Mets .
